Join everyone at the annual SVTC Fall Fundraiser, Mini Mixer/Moonlight Masquerade to be held October 25, 2002 from 7:00pm to midnight at the KC Hall in Bloomington. This is our one and only big fundraiser, and the largest SVTC social of the year. We had over 300 people attend last year, we hope to surpass that this year. The cost will be $15 in advance and $25 at the door.

7:00 - 7:15
Eat, drink, socialize and buy tickets for the prize drawing

7:15 - 8:00
Mini Mixer continue to eat, drink and buy prize drawing tickets

8:00 - 12:00
Dj/Dance and Costume Contest (continue to eat, drink, socialize and keep buying those tickets)

10:00 Costume Contest awards and Prize Drawings

As you arrive at the fundraiser, you will be randomly assigned to a table - no age groups, no pre-registration questions - just everyone mixed together getting to know each other. We are not guaranteeing you'll meet your soul mate, but we will guarantee you'll meet fellow volunteers from all walks of life, age groups and social backgrounds (not to mention everyone's in costume!!). If you do not wish to participate in the mixer - that's ok, just let the cashiers/greeters know when you arrive.

We've got two great emcees (Mike and Jessica) who will keep participants thinking and moving around.

Throughout the night, we'll have JUDGES evaluating your choice of costume.  What will you be???  There are a lot of costume shops open right now and don't pass up the Salvation Army or Savers, there are a lot of great ideas there, too. At 10:00 we'll award prizes to 10 lucky/creative people!

Please remember that this is SVTC's biggest Fundraiser. Last year, the fall fundraiser generated enough money to cover our budget for an entire year. We count on your support of our organization (SVTC) just as you have supported hundereds of local organizations with your time. If you enjoy volunteering and being a member of SVTC then join us (and buy those prize drawing tixers)...oh and be prepared to have fun, too!

To pay in advance, please send a check along with your name and your e-mail address to: SVTC FALL FUNDRAISER * PO Box 201357 * Bloomington, MN 55420 Checks must be postmarked by October 16.

Wine Class Part II
Pool and Yacht Club

1600 Lilydale Road
Saint Paul, MN

Back by popular demand, the SVTC social committee is sponsoring another Wine Tasting extravaganza. If you didn't attend the first class last May, you don't want to miss out on this one.

Have you ever been in a restaurant and been faced with the inevitable - WHAT KIND OF WINE DO I ORDER? Will the wait staff sneer & laugh in my face? Did you make the mistake of bringing a box of wine to the last dinner party? The wine list can be a foreboding place to be.

We will be sampling approximately 6 glasses of wine from a wide range of labels, selected purely for their merit and quality. The wine tasting will be complimented by an incredible selection of cheeses, bread, fruits and other scrumptious hors d'oeuvres!

The management at this fine establishment have given us this opportunity to present you with a unique evening of fun and information at a very reasonable rate. Cost: $25.00 - PAYMENTS ARE DUE BY JANUARY 3RD - NO REFUNDS! We have reserved space for 110 people. This is a private club, so the dress code is holiday best...no exceptions. This means dresses for women and suits or shirt and tie for men.

Directions: Take I-35E north to exit 102, to Route 13 north (Sibley Memorial Hwy.) Turn right on Lilydale Rd., follow under the railroad pass and the green & white building is on the left. Parking area to the right of the street or take advantage of the complementary valet parking.

New Hope
25-30 volunteers to package meals to be shipped overseas to organizations
providing services to poor and hungry children around the world.

This organization was founded by the same person that started Feed My Starving
Children, and has a similar mission to eradicate hunger around the world.

Simpson Housing Shelter Meal

2740 1st Avenue South

Minneapolis
We need 12 volunteers to cook and serve dinner (buffet style) for about 60 homeless shelter residents. We will also be cleaning up afterward. The project leader will bring the food.

Volunteers will be asked for a donation between $5 to $10 (at max) that will go for paying for the food. This is a very easy and rewarding experience.
