Boat Cruise on Lake Minnetonka Come enjoy a wonderful boat ride around Lake Minnetonka as you dine. The boat cruise is provided by Sunboat Cruises, Inc. We will be cruising Lake Minnetonka on the newly christened Isabella. We will be docking at the City Docks in Excelsior.

Dinner will include BBQ chicken, hamburgers, homemade potato salad, chef’s baked beans, potato chips, rolls and cookies.

Cost: $30.00

Join other SVTCers at the metrodome to watch Twins play Seattle. Purchase your $5 UPPER LEVEL GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET at the MN Twins Box Office at the Metrodome and then meet the SVTC group between 5:15 and 5:30 just outside of Gate C (Note: This is a different gate than the May game. In case of rain - go inside gate C, through the revolving doors) and look for the SVTC leader with a sign that reads "SVTC". We will sit in section 215 so if you arrive later than 6:30 look for a large group in that section. Feel free to bring guests of any age. Afterwards we can go across the street to Hubert's for appetizers and beverages (that is if you haven't already filled up on the ballpark junk food!)

There are some special things going on that night including a Twins Autograph Party, Star Tribune Jacque Jones Poster (first 10,000 fans) and Target Photo Night. You can check out www.twinsbaseball.com for more info on these items.

20 volunteers are needed to escort adolescents and adults on a morning field trip. The field trip location has yet to be finalized. Each counselor, or volunteer, will be responsible for 5 participants. Each counselor will have the assistance of a behavior assistant and a group leader. Volunteer duties include keeping your 5 participants together at all times and making sure everyone is having fun. If you have enjoyed volunteering for the Special Olympics, you will enjoy volunteering for this organization also.

Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) is a complex genetic disorder that typically causes low muscle tone, short stature, cognitive disabilities, and a chronic feeling of hunger that can lead to excessive eating and life-threatening obesity. The Youth, Adolescents and Adults Program (YAAP) will be attended by those who have PWS and their siblings. For many, it is a first opportunity to meet other people with PWS.

The location of the workshop is in the Greenway at Lyndale Avenue. T-shirts will be provided for volunteers to wear during the festival.

Up to 20 volunteers are needed for preparation of the project site on the evening of Thursday July 5th, from 5-9 pm. Tasks will include setting up and constructing tables and stages, and will range from light to strenuous. Street parking is free downtown Saint Paul after 4:30 pm. Volunteers may want to bring work gloves


COMPAS's mission is to strengthen people and communities in Minnesota by engaging them in creating art. ArtsWork is an arts-based youth employment project that takes place on Ecolab Plaza, downtown Saint Paul. Sixty youth ages fourteen to 
twenty-one have been hired as apprentices, and will work 25 hours a week with professional artists, learning both art skills and job skills. Both the City of Saint Paul and the Center for Employment Training are partners with COMPAS for this project.

race­-- a moving monument to compassion and courage, to the memory of lost loved ones and to the power of the human spirit." 

20 volunteers needed to set up for the day's activities, then assist with check-in and registration for ride participants as they prepare for the start of their ride the next day.

Volunteer t-shirts provided. Beverages and snacks available for all volunteers.

Brain Injury Association of MN

Food for Thought: A Lakeview Regatta 16th Annual Garden Party

Shift #1: We need 10 -15 people to help set up this auction (set up tables, chairs, etc.). 

Shift #2: We need 10 -15 people to run the auction check out. Dinner will be provided. The leader and another volunteer would need to arrive at 4:00pm to be trained in advance on the check out procedure so that they can train the others. Driving directions will be provided to volunteers.

The Brain Injury Association of Minnesota is a non-profit community resource that serves the 94,000 Minnesotans living with all types of brain injury, their loved ones, and the professionals who serve them. In 2001, the Association will connect 3000 persons living with brain injury and their loved ones to critical information and resources that allow them to improve their quality of life. The goal of this auction is to raise $100,000 for this organization. It is anticipated that 300-400 people will attend the event.

We need 15 volunteers each shift to help with the first annual Aquatennial half -marathon. Shift #1 will work water stop no. 5 (Theodore Wirth Parkway North of I-394), Shift #2 will work water stop no. 6 (Theodore Wirth Parkway South of I-394) and Shift #3 will work the finish line (near Lake Calhoun). Exact meeting location will be provided to volunteers. The organizers have given the most scenic stops to SVTC - so come on out and enjoy a beautiful summer morning!

Join singles from all around the Twin Cities for a special Singles Night with the Twins! The night will kick off with appetizers and socializing outside Gate D at the Metrodome, including great door prizes and a cash bar. The Twins are anticipating 500 - 1000 SINGLES to attend this event.

The game begins at 7:05pm, but the festivities begin at 5:00pm. Here are the highlights:

-Great seats in Lower Reserved seating. If you want to sit by specific people send in your order together or otherwise the Twins will be mixing us up with other single groups.

10 volunteers needed to assist with a field trip to Rhythmland Skating Rink for some of the kids staying at the shelter. Each volunteer will be matched with 1 or 2 kids for the duration of the trip.

Volunteers should report to the PSP building in Minneapolis.

Volunteers will be provided with free skate rentals, but they should eat before or bring money for concessions.

MS Sun 75 Inline Skate Weekend Join us for this terrific annual event. This is an opportunity for 20 people to volunteer and have a wonderful weekend doing it. Multiple Sclerosis Society does a great job in organizing all their events, so expect the best! 

Volunteer to work with other SVTC members at various rest stops on Saturday and Sunday. We will be arranging Friday night camping in Hinckley at a local campground (usual camping fees will apply). MS Society has invited us to camp out Saturday night in Moose Lake with the participants. In the past, Saturday evening entertainment has included live music, hot tubs and massages. Volunteers will receive free meals all Saturday and Sunday. 

Several volunteers are also needed to supervise our rest stops. Supervisors will be asked to attend a short training session at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 16th.

There is a parking lot just beyond The Local on the left hand side of 10th Street (one way street) for $4.
