   Emergency Food Shelf Network

Excel Energy Center

St. Paul

EFN is a resource center for its members who are food shelves and food programs around the Twin Cities. The Emergency Food Shelf Network is having a food and cash drive with the MN WILD hockey team before their game. Spectators are asked to bring in food or cash donations and in return they will receive a ticket for a prize drawing, possibly a team autographed jersey of hockey stick.

18 volunteers will be at the entrances receiving the donations. The game against the Anaheim Mighty Ducks starts at 3pm. We'll continue collecting donations through the first period, then we can go in and watch the game. We will be given passes, but at this point, cannot be guaranteed a seat since many of the games are sold out. There are places to stand to watch the game.

EFN & MN Wild are requesting that volunteers wear EFN T-shirts during the event, this helps the volunteers stand out and helps with credibility. T-shirts with be provided when we arrive. Since volunteers will be positioned at all of the entrances (inside) it can get cold, feel free to wear a long shirt under the T-shirt. We really need lots of enthusiasm and energy from everyone, which means working and asking the crowds for donations on a Sunday afternoon.

Grab your sunscreen, your favorite lawn chair, maybe a frisbee or bocce ball game and and join your fellow SVTC members for some fun in the sun at Shelter #1 at the West Bush Lake Park in Bloomington. Friends and children are welcome to attend!

your annual membership dues at a very reasonable $0.00.

Please bring $5, a lawn chair, your favorite beverage (non-alcoholic), a dish to share (we'll try the same thing we did last year...please try to bring something that starts with the first letter of your first or last name). Paper plates, utensils, napkins, and condiments will be provided.

There are grills near our shelter if you are interested in grilling, however SVTC will not be providing charcoal or "grillers" at this year's picnic. Please bring your own grilling gear.

The facilities include:
*   Playground equipment / Shelter 1
*   Sand volleyball courts / Shelter 1
*   Horseshoe courts / Shelter 1
*   Walking trails
*   Grills
*   Boat launch/6 horsepower max.
*   Fishing docks

We will be planning some activities for you to participate in...stay tuned for further details. There is no need to sign up for this event. We expect you all to be there! (Can you imagine if all 2000+ members showed up?)!
